DJ Mixes 2002
After my first visit to NYC, I was hooked to deep and soulful house, always looking for fresh and new tracks. 2002 was great for me, I collected bunch of new & deep house tracks and I mixed 6 new DJ mixes. However, most important thing happened to me, I discovered Native Instruments DJ software called Traktor. After few sessions with Traktor, I simply realized that digital DJ technology is here to stay but not as CD. I tried to learn as much as I could to work with it and I used just a mouse and the screen in the beginning, USB control consoles didn't exist yet.

Make it funk(y), make it deep & tech, maybe a little bit darker then usual, it will be perfectly fine. And I did. I collected some very interesting semi-organic down-tempo tracks and some good house and I decided to mix them all together with one of my own tracks, "Attractive". So, it'll be "bunch of weirdness" for many listeners, and great music for some of you.. and me ... Let's say that I was waiting for a software like Native Instruments Traktor for a long time, and finally it was here, in my possession. Now I was able to use all my mp3 files (huge archive) and experiment with some filtering and much much more. My first recorded mix with Traktor was my "point of no return", I would never go back to turntables, CDs, and I really don't care for a format, for me all this is just "music transport" but music is important and only live thing here, and I like it loud and clear! Also, you cannot imagine how much easier and faster is to find and mix new track. I guess this will be technically my worst Traktor mix, it's first but try it if you love deep & mostly tech, uplifting house. I think this was my last mix that I did without computer software, I had one old mixer, some CD players and one technics sl1210mk2. Finished product happened to be full of surprises even for me, mix is deep and very energetic, full of soulful vocals, jazzy chords, some electronic themes, afro, funky and techy... and I think you gonna like it like I do. This one could be for the parties.. And yes, you'll hear, I've made few mistakes, I could blame it on old equipment... but who cares, music is great and mix is here... and it will stay online... because I love it... and I hope you'll love it too...
